Our Team
Deepak Mawandia
Founder (ICAM)
Deepak has been deeply involved with GHG emissions reduction initiatives for over 2 decades now. His credentials include being a member of the first Technical Advisory Committee of the CDM Gold Standard, the UNFCCC Roster of Experts for CDM projects, and the UNFCCC panel of Methodology Experts for new CDM methodologies, having advised and developed methodologies and trading strategies for the emissions trading markets. Deepak has over 25 years of experience in renewable energy, real estate investments, special situations investing, and general portfolio management. He is passionate about Climate change, energy transition, Agri-tech, and sustainable real estate.
Deepak is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI), a degree holder in Cost & Works Accounting from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, and holds an MBA from INSEAD (France).
Amit Gupta
Amit has over two decades of experience in strategy, corporate & project finance, and financial advisory services. He has been involved with some of the largest core sector M&A transactions in India. Amit is a Founding Partner of Backbay Advisors and has earlier worked with Essar Group – a large Indian conglomerate.
Amit is an Engineer from IIT and graduated with his MBA from IIM Bangalore.

Mads Vestergaard Sørensen
Mads has been involved in large scale asset transactions for nearly two decades. Mads is a Partner at ICAM and head of investor relation and responsible for fund raising. Prior to ICAM, Mads worked for over 15 years in the Energy and Shipping Industry, having held various positions within A.P Moller - Maersk Group.
Mads is passionate about climate change and has been intimately involved with developing renewable energy solutions for Africa. He holds an executive MBA from INSEAD.
Abhijit Chatterjee
Abhijit has 20 years of specialization in the climate change space, including more than 15 years on climate mitigation and low carbon development pathways. A project design and development specialist, he has developed over 200 projects across renewable energy, energy conservation, and natural resource management sectors, and has experience working in over 30 countries.
He is a contributing author for the State of Environment Report for the Government of India, 2015.
Priyanka Basu Dutta
Priyanka has 12 years of experience in Sustainability and Carbon Advisory services and has been part of over 20 projects. She has worked on several projects on climate adaptation, low carbon development, and rural energy access. She has also conducted GHG accounting; Corporate Carbon Footprint analysis and designing a Carbon Neutrality Strategy for several government and private clients.
Kian Wei Tan
Kian works with the team on research. He is incredibly passionate about climate change, climate finance, investments, and related issues. His previous appointment include being in a fund & wealth management firm for 3 years.
Kian graduated with a degree from The University of Manchester and passed his level 1 CFA examinations.

Dhruv Prahladka, CFA, ACCA
Dhruv leads decarbonizing efforts in value chains of various commodities, and sales and trading of carbon credits. His previous stint at a large agri-commodities trading firm has given him exposure to risk management, research, and commercial strategy in agri-value chains.
Dhruv graduated with a Bachelor's in Business from Singapore Management University, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and is a CFA charter holder and ACCA member.
